Repair Service Terms & Conditions:

 

All our professional repairs are carried out on behalf of Ion Originals Ltd. The repair service is normally carried out within 24 hours of us receiving the straighteners. Our price includes the electrical repair, labour, parts, testing, PAT testing and returns postage.

 

We also repair non electrical faults including damage to ghd casings, please select our ‘premium repair service’ (additional £10) if you have a damaged plastic arm, subject to availability. We may also be able to offer replacement plates and full body, subject to availability, please contact us via email or telephone.

 

On the rare occasion the straighteners are beyond economical repair we will always contact you and offer a refund and the return of your irons.

 

We are unable at this time to repair the GHD eclipse & Platinum model please do not send this model, we can recycle it but the sender would be responsible for return postage costs. Also we cannot repair GHD Air (Hairdryers) and GHD Curve Collection (Curlers) again please do not send as the sender would be responsible for return postage costs.

 

If in doubt about the state of your repair please contact us first. Please note, we do not repair counterfeit ghd straighteners, if you are in doubt about the authenticity of your ghd's please check our fake guide. If you send us fake ghd irons we will contact you, however if you need the irons returning please be aware that there is a £6.00 administration and inspection fee plus a £3.95 return postage charge.

All our UK repairs are dispatched Royal Mail 1st class recorded delivery. If you have paid via credit card and provided an email address, a tracking number will be sent to you via email at point of dispatch. You can track your delivery on the royal mail website by
clicking here. If more than 5 working days have passed since you sent the ghd's in for repair and you have not received the straighteners back or heard from us you can request an update via email. Please email

You should receive an update within 24 hours of emailing us. In the case of a straightener being dispatched to the customer and the straighteners not being received, please allow 5 working days before contacting us as postage times may vary. We recommend contacting your local Royal Mail sorting office during this time to make sure they are not holding the delivery for you, this should be done despite a card being left or not by your postman. In the rare case that a parcel cannot be traced after 10 working days please contact us to arrange making a claim with Royal Mail and the item would be considered missing.

All our repairs come with a warranty of three months from the date of the repair. If your straighteners become faulty with a similar problem within the warranty period they can be returned to us for a warranty repair service. Please make sure you send a covering note along with return address and contact telephone number with a note explaining the fault. We will endeavour in most cases to return your warranty repair within 3 working days of receipt. There should be no additional fee to pay to us. The customer should incur any costs of getting the irons back to us, however in the rare occasion where an iron develops a fault within 14 days of receipt after repair you can claim your return postage back. Rare product failure notice - in our experience due to a potential IC failure on some MK4 PCB's & Thermistor problem of the MK5 models, be aware that on very rare occasions some models can overheat, this is an original known fault and can happen at any time for no apparent reason. We therefore recommend always testing the irons on a small area of hair before styling. If the irons do overheat turn the power on and off and repeat the check. Unless a PCB, IC or thermistor is replaced on one of our repairs we are not responsible for any damage caused to the straighteners or that of the user.

 

Important tip for when Packaging and posting your ghd:

We suggest that when you send your GHD to us that you close the plates together and hold them in place with an elastic band. This will help prevent the metal plug from coming into contact with the plates which will cause damage. We cannot be held responsible for any damage occurring during postage to us.    

 

 

Terms & Conditions of Spares, Accessories & Stylers:

 

All parts and compatible spare parts are fitted at consumers own risk and we suggest that any work carried out on any electrical goods is checked and passed by a qualified electrical technician before use. The parts supplied are only intended for the goods indicated. Ion Originals Ltd cannot be held responsible for any use of the parts supplied for any other use than that of which is suggested. All parts are either patent or re-cycled from old / used ghds. Where a part of a certain colour isn't available a black replacement part will be shipped in its place. N.B. All none patent parts are sourced from genuine used ghd irons, therefore they may be discolored or marked. All parts come with a 3 months warranty, if the goods become faulty due to natural failure during normal intended use within 3 months of receiving the goods please return the goods with your ordering documentation and we will arrange a replacement where available and a refund if the parts are no longer available.

All our new straighteners come with a 12 months or manufactures offered warranty from the date purchased, if the straighteners become faulty within this time after normal recommended use please return the goods with your ordering documentation and we will arrange a repair or replacement when a repair is not possible. The consumer is responsible for returning the goods to us unless the item has become faulty within the first 30 days of use, if the goods have become faulty within the first 30 days please contact us at

All our refurbished straighteners and stylers come with our in house 6 months warranty from the date of purchase if the straighteners become faulty within this time after normal recommended use please return the goods with your ordering documentation and we will arrange a repair or replacement when a repair is not possible. By placing an order with us online or over the telephone you are confirming to us that you are an individual consumer who is 18 years old or over and legally capable of entering into binding contracts

 

You have a legal right to cancel a Contract without giving any reason within 14 days of the day after you receive the Goods. This is the “Cancellation Period”. We will ordinarily refund the full purchase price of the Goods within 14 days of receiving the returned Goods. Goods must be returned unused, and in their original packaging. You must also take reasonable care of Goods before you return them to us. We may reduce the amount we refund to you if you use them, damage them or otherwise do something beyond what is reasonably necessary to examine them that reduces their resale value.
